This evening Company 16, Truck 217, Tanker 819 and Ambulance 8 were alerted to the 200 Block of Benner Road for a Dwelling Fire.

Reports stated the neighbor seen smoke coming from the rear of the residence. Chief 1603 (Shaffer) responded to the scene and upon arrival reported nothing evident from three (3) sides. Engines 1610 & 1614 responded and while in route, the box was placed into service, upon investigation it was found to be a dryer vent.

Crash With Unknown Injuries

100 Block Of Nittany Valley Drive

This morning at 0130 hours Company 16 and Ambulance 8 were alerted to the 100 Block of Nittany Valley Drive for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Rescue 1618, Engine 1610 and fire police responded. Chief 1602 (Black) arrived on scene with PSP and found that one vehicle left the road and struck a pole. There were no injuries. Fire police remained on scene for approx. an hour since there were poles and wires down across the road, and PennDOT later arrived and took over traffic control.
 
The Box was placed in service.

Unknown Injury Accident

2300 Block Of Nittany Valley Drive

This evening Company 16 and Ambulance 8 were alerted to the 2300 Block of Nittany Valley Drive for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Rescue 1618 responded with five (5) along with Engine 1610 and Fire Police. 1600 arrived in the area and found that it appeared the vehicle left the area and placed the box in service.

Automatic Fire Alarm

Company 16 alerted to the Nittany Country Club for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Chief 1600 arrived on the scene to find an alarm with water flow. Alarm ended up malfunctioning, tripping the Water Flow system. Engine 1610 handled the call.

Accident With No Injuries

Company 16 alerted to Box 1602, the 2100 Block of Nittany Valley Drive for an Accident with no injuries.

Rescue 1618 arrived on the scene first to find one vehicle off the roadway into a ditch. Engine 1610 was placed available while in route. The Rescue and Fire Police operated on the scene a short time before going available.

Chimney Fire On Nittany Ridge

950 Nittany Ridge Road, Marion Township

Company 16 alerted with CLINTON MICU 21 to Fire Box 1603, 950 Nittany Ridge Road, Marion Township for a Chimney Fire. Engine 1614 was the first arriving piece to report heavy smoke from the Chimney.

Crews went to work on clearing the Fire Box and dropping chains down the chimney.

Automatic Fire Alarm

Company 16 alerted at 19:52 hours to Two Mile Drive, for an Automatic Fire Alarm in a Dwelling. Before responding, 1601 (Corman) was advised the alarm company called back wishing to cancel, false trip. Company 16 was placed available.

Company 16 alerted at 16:15 hours to Box 1601, 257 Walizer Road for Hazardous Conditions.

Engine 1610 responded and was advised that a 1,000 gallon fuel tank was leaking, and approx. 20 gallons had already leaked into the basement of the residence. E1610 requested Eagle to remove the remaining fuel oil from the tank.

Emergency Medical Assist, Assisting Clinton QRS 17-62

Company 16 alerted at 10:38 hours for an Emergency Medical Assist for manpower to assist Clinton 17 with a cardiac arrest at 43 Shady Lane, Porter Township. Rescue 1618 responded with three (3) and was placed available while en route.

Accident With Heavy Entrapment On Nittany Valley Drive

1500 Block of Nittany Valley Drive

Company 16, Ambulance 8 two (2) units, Medic 24 alerted to the 1500 Block of Nittany Valley Drive for a Vehicle Accident with injuries and entrapment. Chief 1601 (Corman) responded to the scene and upon arrival reported two (2) vehicles, confirming entrapment in a pick-up and established Command.

Engine 1610, Rescue 1618 and Utility 1636 responded on the call. The crew from Rescue 1618 extricated the entrapped patient in the pick-up truck, while being assisted by the Engine crew. Aeromedical was requested by EMS, and at this time, Engine 212 was requested to establish the Landing Zone at the scene. While in route, Aeromedical aborted their flight due to weather conditions. Command then requested E212 transfer to the substation.

Upon extrication of the patient and vehicle recovery, command placed the Box available with the exception of Fire Police.

Great teamwork by all agencies involved!
